You’ll Never Guess What’s Hiding in lululemon’s Goose Down Jackets

That’s right: Cruelty can be found in every stitch of lululemon’s goose down outerwear.

It’s high time the company quit stuffing its coats with down feathers and made the progressive switch to animal-friendly synthetics. Geese in the down industry are violently killed for their feathers, and some even have their throats slit while fully conscious and able to feel pain—cruelty that goes directly against the yoga principle of ahimsa, or nonviolence, that many lululemon shoppers follow. With so many cruelty-free options—such as Thinsulate, Climashield, and PrimaLoft, which are all warm, cozy, and environmentally friendly—there is simply no excuse for selling down.
