ℹ️ Animal Equality rende pubblico un filmato sconvolgente ottenuto da anonimi all’interno di un macello in Lombardia. Il video mostra gli ultimi istanti di vita di un maiale che, venendo stordito in modo improprio, riprende i sensi durante la macellazione, soffrendo per interi minuti prima che sopraggiunga finalmente la morte.

➡️ La sofferenza e il terrore provati da un animale all’interno di un macello vanno al di là di ogni immaginazione, e sono ancor più intensificati quando gli operatori degli stabilimenti non rispettano le norme esistenti, ignorando completamente gli standard già minimi che dovrebbero proteggere gli animale da estremi atti di crudeltà.

Questo atteggiamento criminoso è incentivato sia dall’assenza di controlli severi, sia dalla mancanza di conseguenze penali concrete per chi infrange la legge. Al momento esistono solo sanzioni amministrative per chi viola le prescrizioni sulle procedure di macellazione, che nei casi più gravi prevedono la pena pecuniaria del tutto irrisoria di € 6.000.

Domandiamo che il Ministro dell’Agricoltura e il Ministro della Salute si adoperino al più presto affinché siano introdotte pene più severe per gli abusi sugli animali all’interno dei macelli e affinché venga rinforzato il sistema di controlli atti ad identificare e denunciare qualunque forma di violazione. Chiediamo inoltre che venga resa obbligatoria l’installazione delle telecamere nei macelli come deterrente per le infrazioni.

In ultimo, domandiamo che il Parlamento italiano si allinei agli Stati membri che già si sono impegnati ad abolire in via definitiva la macellazione senza stordimento.

Animal Equality si batte ogni giorno per mettere fine allo sfruttamento animale in ogni sua forma. Per quanto nessuna di queste richieste potrà risparmiare gli animali da una fine ingiusta, si tratta di misure urgenti e necessarie per arginare le crudeltà nei macelli e alleviare l’estrema sofferenza a cui sono sottoposti milioni di animali ogni giorno.
