Breaking investigation: Ahold Delhaize cruelty exposed

A breaking investigation by Animal Equality is exposing conditions at a pig breeding facility in Kansas, USA.

Between 2024 and 2025, investigators documented pigs trapped in tiny metal cages, unable to turn or take more than a step for most of their lives.

The farm is linked to Ahold Delhaize—a multinational retail group behind major grocery chains, including U.S.-based Food Lion, Stop & Shop, and Giant.

In 2014, Ahold Delhaize (then Ahold USA) publicly pledged to eliminate gestation crates from its U.S. supply chain. Over a decade later, the commitment remains unfulfilled, leaving millions of pigs trapped inside cages.

Despite growing public criticism and bans in several U.S. states and countries, Ahold Delhaize continues to allow this cruel practice in its supply chain.
