Untrashing Djulpan – The Miyapunu Fight

In October our team returned to Djulpan for the fourth year, working alongside the Dhimurru Land and Sea Rangers to remove trash and provide immediate relief to marine life. 🐢

Our team were thrilled to see fresh turtle tracks and a female turtle making her way down the beach. However, the team were equally devastated to find deceased turtles entangled in fishing gear, including one tiny hatchling.

This is why our teams return time and time again to remove loading from these remote beaches. This is why we will continue to be on the ground making tangible change.

This year we removed 12,756kg of pollution and we will be back next year to continue the fight. 🙌

This campaign was funded as part of the Ghost Nets Innovative Solutions Grant from the Australia Government.
