Peter Singer es el pionero del movimiento por los derechos animales y autor del clásico Liberación Animal, el libro al cual también se le atribuye el inicio del movimiento. Visitó Madrid para la presentación al público de la primera edición en castellano de su libro Ética en Acción.
El evento tuvo lugar en la Casa Encendida y contó también con la participación de Sharon Núñez, presidenta internacional de Igualdad Animal quien entrevistó a Singer y Marcos de Miguel, director de la editorial Plaza y Valdés.
La entrevista giró en torno a la figura de Henry Spira, el activista que revolucionó el movimiento moderno en defensa de los animales y doblegó a las multinacionales y sobre quien trata el libro Ética en Acción.
Igualdad Animal es una organización internacional de defensa de los animales de granja presente en España, Inglaterra, Italia, Estados Unidos, México, Alemania, Brasil e India que cuenta con más de cuatro millones de simpatizantes en redes sociales y que trabaja a través de la sensibilización, concienciación e investigación con el objetivo de promover cambios en la sociedad y en las leyes que sean favorables a los animales.
