Animals Suffering at Deer Haven Mini Zoo

At Deer Haven Mini Zoo in Maryland, a bear named Lily is confined to a tiny corn-crib cage covered with feces and urine—and he or she is plainly struggling to breathe and has an abdominal mass the size of three footballs. Witnesses also found animals confined to tiny, barren cages, including a cougar who ran around in apparent fear of a loud tractor, and coatimundis who anxiously paced back and forth—a sign of severe deprivation and psychological distress.

PETA offered to place the bear, the cougar, and other animals in reputable sanctuaries at no cost to Deer Haven, but its owners have refused to do what’s right. Would you let your dog live like this? Please shun all roadside zoos. Visit PETA.org for more information.
