Garden Bros. Circus Forces Lame and Distressed Elephants to Perform

At a recent Garden Bros. Circus performance, two elephants exhibited by Carson & Barnes Circus and handled by notorious trainer Habib Omar were forced to perform and give rides even though they had stiff joints, which likely was painful and is an indication of chronic joint disease. One elephant, named Libby, was seen swaying back and forth repeatedly when she wasn’t performing, which indicates psychological distress. The elephants were also left unattended at times behind an inadequate barrier, putting the public at risk.
