Pigeons suffer immeasurably in the horrific world of pigeon racing, where they serve only as commodities for humans’ pleasure and greed. Trainers often separate pigeons from their lifelong mates or eggs. This is done to increase the racing birds’ desire to return home and thereby win races.

More than 2,850 birds were lost in this year’s South African Million Dollar Pigeon Race training flights or races, and an additional 1,000 died in quarantine.

Help put an end to this deadly “sport”: Avoid participating in pigeon racing, speak out against the cruel use of pigeons for gambling by calling on government agencies to investigate pigeon-racing rings, and educate your friends and family members about how many birds suffer and die for this heartless pastime.
