Mr Roger bleeding on the racetrack

Mr Roger bled from his lungs so badly whilst being raced he can be seen bleeding through his nose on the racetrack.

Almost all horses experience some degree of exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH) whilst being used to race, due to being pushed so hard. Studies indicate only 1% show visible signs of EIPH through frank epitaxis.
548 horses were reported to have bled from the nose in the last racing year, meaning a horse suffers a bleed like this on Australian racetracks every 1-2 days.

EIPH can be deadly for horses and most often goes unnoticed at the racetrack.
