Anakin’s Story: Fear, Pain, and Death in a UMass Lab

Anakin was a gentle marmoset monkey who spent almost half his life imprisoned and tormented in the University of Massachusetts–Amherst (UMass) laboratory of Agnès Lacreuse before being killed. This poignant video of Anakin, with footage taken by the experimenters themselves and obtained by PETA, shows him being forced to engage in useless experiments in exchange for a morsel of food. He was also kept thirsty to coerce him to cooperate for a sip of liquid. When not being experimented on, he was locked inside a cramped steel cage and denied everything natural and important to him.

Take action at peta.org/Amherst to help marmosets still imprisoned in this laboratory.
